Through the efforts of local business operators Cory McCall and Bill Bennett of Outdoor 76, along with Forward Rabun, Clayton has become the newest member of the AT community. As a designated AT Community, Clayton will be promoted as a “go to” destination for Appalachian Trail hikers looking for a place to rest and resupply along their journey. Thousands hike the trail annually, coming from all walks of life and places of origin. Being named to the community will bring Clayton and Rabun County to the forefront on a national level among outdoor enthusiasts of all kinds.
