May Vet to Vet Cafe to Honor Veterans

This month’s Vet to Vet Cafe was a big hit as always. Our local veterans turned out to enjoy breakfast and an informative talk by local veteran Roger Glenn. Although his only current engagements involve local real estate, Roger had 31-year career as a Military Police officer in the United States Army and Army Reserve. He is a Distinguished Military and Cum Laude graduate of The Ohio State University where he received his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. In 2018, Colonel Glenn graduated from the U.S. Army War College with a Masters of Strategic Studies. He commanded at both the Company and Battalion levels and has two overseas deployments (Iraq and Guantanamo Bay, Cuba). His decorations include the Humanitarian Service Medal, the Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, the Combat Action Badge, multiple Army Commendation Medals, the Legion of Merit (Medal), and the Bronze Star (Medal).

At Forward Rabun’s May Vet to Vet Cafe, Colonel Glenn spoke to the attendees about National Armed Forces Day, a day set aside to honor and uplift all personnel currently serving in any of the six branches of the U.S. Armed Forces. He also spoke about what it means to truly appreciate the sacrifice military service requires. At Forward Rabun, we strive to support and show our genuine appreciation for the folks who have and are currently serving in our country’s defense. In recognition of our efforts, we were recently awarded Commemorative Partner status by the Department of Defense. We are proud to host the Vet to Vet Cafe each month as well as the many other events and services we provide for our wonderful local veterans!
