Ninth District Congressman Andrew Clyde (R-GA) visited Rabun County last Thursday as part of a county-by-county tour he is conducting during his August recess. Clyde kicked off his day in Rabun by joining a meeting of Forward Rabun’s Intergovernmental Roundtable, a newly formed group of elected officials consisting of mayors, city council members and county officials. The newly formed group operates as part of Forward Rabun and will convene bi-monthly to address pertinent community issues. Congressman Clyde was the group’s first guest at Thursday’s meeting, and was able to talk one-on-one with many of Rabun County’s elected officials. Following the roundtable meeting, Clyde took the opportunity to meet with area constituents, talk with local business owners, speak to the Rotary Club of Clayton, and tour Rabun Gap’s ELK Industries.
